Alphabet of Disneyland Resort

A

jolly holiday roof

A Jolly Discovery

You are walking down Main Street U.S.A. and are realizing that you are hungry. You can’t stand the smell of candy because you crave for something nutritious, something real. As you get to the hub, you turn to the left and see a quick-service building with a roof in the shape of an "A". You have made it to the Jolly Holiday.

B

Buildings With Questionable Windows

There is a window near the North-West end of Fantasyland that is pretty hard to gaze into. You can’t really tell what is through it other than a white background. This window leaves you with questions as you realize that it kind of looks like a letter “B.”

C

Can you see it

The Captivating Lamppost

Such captivating detail put into the architecure of Main Street U.S.A.

D

Discoveries of Turn-Of-The-Century Architecture

Getting a sense of the architectural style of certain areas, you make your way back to near the front gates of the park. Looking near the top of the bathrooms near City Hall, you notice that the end of the little roofing has quite a neat quality to it.

E

Ensconce Behind The Shutters

Walking through the queue for The Haunted Mansion, you get a feeling that the owners saw their home as more cozy than they knew how it would turn out. Whether they knew that their home was going to be the residents of hundreds of other ghosts, they felt comfort in their mansion, behind their windows and walls.

F

Facing Illumination in a Hero’s Campus

In Disney California Adventure, you walk through Avengers Campus just to get a feel of the land. As you walk infront of the Vault Store, you notice that at a certain angle, you can see that the lights can be aligned in a way that look like the letter “F.” Realizing this makes you see that these letter lookalikes are not just exclusive to Disneyland Park.

G

Guessing What's In The Present

Back to the Haunted Mansion, you notice a present as your Doom Buggie is taking you up a hill near the loading part of the attraction. One thing that is funny is that the ribbon looks like a capital letter “G.” Gazing on the present makes you wonder at what is inside of the present.

H

Hello Pillars

Near the entrance of the Mansion, you gaze upon the upon front of the building itself. Even with all of the Halloween inspired Christmas decorations Jack Skellington has brought, you can’t help but admire the architecture of this building as with the other locations in Main Street U.S.A. Once thing you notice is how strong the vertical pillars are.

I

Interesting Sign Design

The sign says Carnation Cafe but the shape of the it just entices you think they serve something more intuitive.

J

Jimminy Jillikers, They Serve Turkey Here!

While you’re wandering around Fantasyland, you notice a sign to a building with the shape of a turkey. It makes you think that you’re quite hungry and that you could go for a turkey leg at the moment. Whether you eat it alone or with a friend, it’s clear that the sign looks like it could be a “J” if it was upside down.

K

Killing The Dance Shore

Riding “The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure”, you notice a sea turtle halfway through the ride that is doing a particular dance move.

l

let's get some refreshments

One sign that caught your eye back at Main Street was the sign for the Coca-Cola store near the far corner of the street. For one, it’s shaped like a lower-case “L.” It’s also where you can get refreshments like Coca-Cola and can chill outside in the tabled area near Jolly Holiday.

M

Making An Effort on Composting

This resort set the standard for having trashbins be placed within every 20-30 of each other. While it began in Disneyland Park, it reached its way to Downtown Disney. While not everyone may keep our Earth clean, it’s clear that Disney in their parks try their best to remind people to.

N

Never Gone Down This Path

There are two paths down Grizzly Peak. One that will lead you to the entrances to Grizzly River Run and Redwood Creek Challenge. The other path leads you to a more scenic route where you can see a door with many wooden lines that can emulate letters. Follow down that path to get a sense of California Woods.

O

Ohh... Is That A Canon?

Back in Main Street, people tend to focus on the item that’s in the flower bed infront of the flag pool. It usually changes throughout the year depending on the nearest holiday celebration or company celebration. Because of this, people don’t tend to notice the flagpool or the old-timey canon near it.

P

Patiences is a Safety Virtue

Buena Vista Street is supposed to replicate the Los Angeles that Walt Disney walked into back in the 1920s. You can tell by this by not just the architecture but also by the one vehicle that travels in it. The Red Car Trolley travels from Buena Vista Street to Hollywood Land and its Buena Vista station has a sign that will go off when it is approaching for those ready to board.

Q

Quite a Tastey Snack

Many snacks in the park are scrumptious but they can all come in funny shapes. When eating a pretzel, it is pretty obvious that it’s slender lines can help form any type of shape. Doing so, it can accidentally be turned into a letter “Q”.

r

reaching The End of Mansion

As you exit another room full of presents that are going to be given to kids for Christmas, you get a peak of the graveyard. There are many things shown like pumpkins on top of a hill that is all curled up. This hill is one from Jack Skellington’s Hometown and it quite a conundrum of how it got there.

S

Sensing Great Architecture

One other structure part of Jolly Holiday are these lamppost signs that are attached to the gate outside of Jolly Holiday. It’s hard to tell what these details are but you get a sense that they obviously look like the letter “S.” Only another part of Main Street to appreciate.

t

That's Not Supposed To Be Here

When entering The Haunted Mansion, you notice this pumpkin headed scarecrow out on the front. Since there are no crops or vegetables on the grass, it seems like it is keeping the entrance of the mansion and it’s structure clear of any crows.

U

Uunderstanding The Fronteir

The Golden Horseshoe is an elstablishment near the borders of Frontierland and New Orleans Square and it has a great reputation. For having great chicken tenders and exciting entertainment, you have to stop by it when you’re in the area. Funny of all though, is that there is a quite a literal golden horseshoe at the top of the building!

V

Venturing Onto Great Foundations

The Architecture is not only great in the buildings itself but with the flooring they use. Whether it be the wooden flooring of the coffee shop in Main Street or bricks on the sidewalk, it is all quite a wonder for you step into. You never know how many unique shapes you can find by just looking down.

W

Wait, I Can't Cross This?

You may find yourself wondering how long a line can be. Whether it be for an attraction or a meet and greet, sometimes you can really find yourself thinking abou the time. No matter where you are, you realize that you have to stay inside the ropes to get where you want to be. Who knows, maybe you might find some interesting designs on the flags

X

Xyloid Lines of Foliage

Right after the the little tunnel near the entrance of Disneyland Park, you notice the foliage that they let grow on the wall of stairs for the train. While you can appreciate the architecture of the park, you can also appreciate the plants and foliage that grows around the resort.

Y

Yearning To Be One With Nature

While this park was made to bring joy to people through attractions and entertainment, you can’t help but take in the plant life of it. Near the castle, you get a sense of an actual park in the resort, one that anyone could enjoy but just with that Disney touch to it. At the end of the day, the flowers and trees are parts of the park that you can enjoy at any age of your life.

Z

Z'at Dynomite on That Box?!?

Walking through Frontierland, you realize that you are near Big Thunder Mountain. Many boxes have interesting angular shapes that are so noticeable, you forget to catch the sight of dynamite ontop of them. Were they meant to be inside the boxes? Who’s to say.
